Advancing visual literacy & Supporting documentary artists in Asia

Ryan Libre founded Documentary Arts Asia in January 2008 to "Advance visual literacy & Support documentary artists in Asia"

Ryan received a grant from the the W. Eugene Smith Memorial Fund in October 2011 to help open the DAA center and library.

The DAA center will open in Chiang Mai, Thailand around February 2012 and include a gallery, theater, library and a workshop space.

DAA will also soon have a Visual Artist in Residence program running.
