Photography Workshop Details

The content of these workshops will primarily be about the art of photography and will focus on how to tell interesting stories through well timed and composed photos. They will also address the technical issues of photography. One day covers "the photo", The other day covers "the camera".

Students who bring a friend receive a 10% discount per friend. 5 friends = 1/2 price - 10 friends = free

Photography Workshop Philosophy

The main goal of these workshops is to teach what you need to know to effectively continue teaching yourself.

These workshops will emphasize getting it right "in camera" over post-processing.

We will use real prints rather than pixels to learn from.

A portion of the profits from these workshops will be donated to Documentary Arts Asia

Photography Education Experience

I have taught multi-day photography workshops for

Earth Rights International, Documentary Arts Asia & Where There Be Dragons

+ Ran my own workshops for 3 years in Japan, Thailand, Lao, Burma, Cambodia, Hong Kong and the US.

Why are these photography workshops so reasonably priced?

These photography workshops are several times cheaper then most others for a few reasons.

1) They are taught where I am on assignment, so i don't have to charge you for my transportation costs.

2) All the planning is done by me and I use no paid advertisements.

3) They are taught at free or reasonably priced venues.

5 -10 students is just 1000 Bhat (30 USD) per student.

More than 10 students may get a discount depending on location and number of days.

Fill out the registration form telling me where and when you would like to do a workshop or private photo lesson or tour.

Photography Portfolio Reviews

Do you want personal advice on how to improve your photography? Don't have time or can't make it to the location of one of my photography workshops?

You should consider a photography portfolio review. Send me the link to a portfolio or project with 10-25 photos and i'll spend an hour studying and critiquing the individual images and the project overall. After carefully reviewing your work I can call you and talk for an hour or so about the the strong points and weak points of your portfolio or project. This advice can include; technical advice, creative advice, logistic advice or publishing advice. This kind of one on one advice is invaluable for aspiring or stuck photographers.

Just 40 USD or 1/2 price for returning reviews and past workshop students.

FAQ

Q - "Do I need an expensive camera?"

A - No, 90% of photography is about where you stand, your timing, and what you exclude from the photo. + even point and shoot cameras have a ton of features most owners don't know how to use.

Q - What should I do to prepare for one of your photography workshops?

A - You should get familiar with your camera & you should write down a list of questions.

Make a portfolio online, about 25 of your best photos, and send me the link.

Q - What topics will be covered?

A - Every workshop is unique. I try to look at your photos online before and teach more of what you need. A list of possible topics that can be selected is here.

Hope to see you at one ^_^
